Almost Forgot

Charles A. Livingston, author of Palingensia, is not Charles Ambrose Livingston, my grandfather.

After reading the poem and my father comparing signatures, it's clearly two different people.

What if the author’s signature on the book was forged? That your g-father was the author, but someone, for reasons surely related to money, signed it him/herself and tried to pass it off.

In addition to the signature, the writing in the book is nothing like the poems of his we have. It's pretty obvious these are two different people. Thinking it was him was a stretch in the first place but I've always been one of those people who like to believe.
