Adobe InDesign Question

Has anyone used Adobe InDesign for book layout? If so, would you recommend it?

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that if I continue to use MS Word, I will go ape shit.

I love InDesign. I use it to layout my magazine at work (http://www.asu.edu/pipercwcenter/publications/marginalia/index.htm). We also use it to do Hayden's Ferry Review. It's totally simple to use.

If you want to upgrade from Word to do layout, you could try writing it on a sandy beach at low tide. ;)

I totally recommend InDesign. There is some weird trouble sometimes if you are moving files back n forth from Quark and even other versions of InDesign (like CS for example) but in general it's a great tool once you've got the fundamentals down.

i use it for all sorts of print design, large and small.

Thanks boys, the Mac store just set aside my copy of InDesign and I'm picking it up tonight.

Although the low tide option is one I hadn't considered and I'm pondering whether that may be the sexiest way to publish the Bedside Guide.
