It's a way some people keep track of updates on the blogs they read. Of course, the No Tell Motel feed doesn't seem to have updated at midnight like it was supposed to have. I'm whipping the technical people as I type this.

Ah-ha! Does the live-feed send every update to folks or wuh? I'm just wondering cause I've selected some kind of feed thingie for my blog and am not entirely sure wuh exactly that means. BTW, you have to watch those techies--sometimes they misbehave just to get a little spanking. They're bad like that.

Not just updates on blogs, but other things too. I use RSS to keep up on new stories posted to all sorts of things, from Cackling Jackal and NotellMotel to the New York Times and the BBC. Most major news sites now offer RSS feeds. I have it set to check every 15 minutes. So for instance right now I see that since the last time I checked my RSS reader there are 2 new stories on BBC News, 3 on Yahoo! Top Stories, 1 on Gizmodo, 1 on Slashdot, 2 on Fark and one on MacNN. In a few minutes I'll skim the headlines, read any of the full articles that actually strikes my fancy, then mark them all as read. It's much faster than actually surfing to all those sites, plus a bunch of others just to find out they are the same as last time I looked.
