From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

"I hate the Mommy Bloggers," I overheard one conference-goer say. "They're like the freaking Junior League."

I'd love to see the junior league 'get their freak on' (an aptly out of date phrase to use).

I hate the junior league, though they pay well for entertainment now and again.

mommy bloggers are cool

Hating "mommy bloggers" is just another form of sexism. Keep 'em isolated: "barefoot and pregnant." As though the internet isn't big enough for mommy bloggers and kick-butt sites! As though mommies don't kick butt themselves from time to time!

I found this paragraph, occurring just above the line you quote, pretty interesting:

A group of mothers who call themselves the Mommy Bloggers...turned their blogs into a virtual distribution center that provided supplies for victims all over the country.

So apparently, they're the junior leagues in relief distribution. Here I was thinking that was FEMA.

Typical MOMS picking up the slack of others. How annoying.
