The nursery is 98% done -- close enough to take and post photos. What's still missing is the glider foot stool, diaper caddy (basket), a baby photo of Chris' mum -- I think that's everything.

Nice crib. Mind if I stay awhile?

What a setup. I'm always startled to remember how much more space people have outside major urban centers. Only the rich get it here.

Not that we would have used it. A co-worker asked my advice for those nights when the baby wouldn't stop crying. Pick her up, carry her back to your bed, tell your husband to deal with it, and you'll all get some sleep.

Our daughter slept with us every single night until she was about 26 months. Then she got up one night in the middle of the night, went to the couch, and from then on has slept in her own bed. The crib had zero overnight guests!

One thing we did that I would suggest to anyone who co-sleeps is put one of those bolster things with the arms (that are used for sitting up in bed against the wall), with the arms opening toward the bed. It keeps baby from slipping between the mattress and wall, and is a safe way to deal with that moms are more attuned to babyat this point than dads, so baby shouldn't sleep between daddy and mommy.

I wish you the best. Betcha we'll see a picture of two on the site. Hope so.
