I Think I Just Found God

It's thundering and raining here! It's going down to 80 degrees tonight. Tomorrow's high is only supposed to be 93.

Did I ever mention that my car has black leather seats and the air conditioning hasn't worked in 3 years? The car is 12 years old and to fix it would cost about as much as the car is worth, so I've been grinning and bearing it these past few summers.

A lot less grinning this past week.

really trying to put myself in your shoes, reb, but it's a little hard being over here in Phoenix and all! Ever had a cell phone melt?

Last year was my first year in No. Va. I brought with me from Indiana my all black 1992 LeBaron...the one with no air conditioning.

I left it parked outside one day. When I came back downstairs a few hours later, the rear view mirror was lying on the floor. The glue holding it to the windshield had melted....there was nothing left but a smear. The glue that had lasted 12 years in The Midwest lasted only through the month of June here in Virginia.

A few weeks ago the entire car was lost to the flooding in Alexandria. Water up to the steering wheel inside and out.

I now have a new car. This one has air-conditioning...and it's not black...and the mirror isn't mounted with glue.

This here is a Virginia-proof car.

Why would I need a "faux" rifle rack?

We already had a pick-up truck (sans the rack). When you have a pick-up truck everybody wants you to help them move furniture and bring them mulch.

Besides, where would I put the babyseat?
