Who Will Be My Champion Now?

Today is a very emotional day. This evening is the series finale of Angel. I'm already weepy, didn't want to get out of bed this morning and I'm thinking about crawling back in and spending the afternoon drooling into my pillow. But I'm not going to do that. I have to be strong. I had a life before Angel, albeit a meaningless one, surely there's a life for me afterwards. I survived the end of Buffy (but only because I had Angel to fill the void). I hate television executives. I hate them more than I hate people who throw their cigarette butts out their car windows on the highway, almost as much as I hate Satan's toe jam, Bono.

I was going to change my blog background to black to signify my mourning, but I see Matthew has already done that and I wouldn't want to step on his toes (but I feel your pain, man, I really really do).

Reb,
My condolences on the series finale of Angel. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm going with a native Pittsburgher and she states that we will be going to Kennywood (which, I am told, has no affiliation with Dollywood, much to my dismay) and we are also going to the Andy Warhol Museum and to two Frank Lloyd Wright houses, plus a side tour of the Latrobe brewery. I'll send you the cool pictures when we get back; my partner in travel is a professional photographer and she has purchased the largest mass of film I've ever seen outside of retail.

Julie, thank you. That means a lot.

Kennywood will be nothing like Dollywood, sorry, but it's a special place. While you're there, have your friend snap a pic of the Dutch Grove picnic area located past the Bayern Kurve. But whatever you do, don't be deceived by the secluded feeling it gives That's where during high school three friends and I were caught by security and expelled from the park for smoking something we weren't supposed to be smoking. Apparently they bust people there every night.

Gasp, that was the end. Still have it on Tivo. Will probably watch it another 5 times this week. How many synonyms for "devastated" are there?

There are several synonyms, depending on your meaning:

devastated meaning "finished":

bankrupt, consumed, devastated, done, done for, drained, empty, exhausted, gone, liquidated, lost ruined, played out, spent, through, undone, washed up, wiped out, wrecked

or devastated meaning "lost"

abolished, annihilated, bygone, consumed, dead, demolished, destroyed, devastated, dissipated, eradicated, exterminated, forgotten, frittered away, gone, lapsed, misspent, misused, obliterated, obsolete, out-of-date, past, perished, ruined, squandered, unremembered, wasted, wiped out, wrecked

So, I count 55 synonyms, or rather wc -w does.... all hail thesaurus.com

Oh, and yea, TV execs suck the donkey member. First Farscape, then Invisible Man, then Serenity, then Buffy, now Angel? What are they thinking?

hey look, i can actually comment now. so i guess i better say something.

um, farscape rules. watching it on DVD lately.

apparently one of the reasons they canceled it was because all the blue makeup was making the ladies sick. is that true?

Farscape, I really don't understand why they would have ended it 1 season short. Leaving the show in the lurch like that was just rude.

As to the blue paint, I'm not sure I had heard about it making people sick :( The main reason given by the network was 'declining ratings' or 'viewership not increasing with possible viewers'. Something about having 3million viewers constantly, and not increasing.

Lame excuses for pulling a good show and replacing it with crap.
