I understand the concepts of "name" and reputation. I get the importance of funding, budgets, distribution and library subscriptions.

I also get that one of the wealthiest, most talked about, most photographed, high-profile celebrities is Paris Hilton. Yet that doesn't make her talented, smart, compelling, interesting, classy or particularly pretty. I'd sooner enter a "Win a Date with Carrot Top" contest than break bread with her.

Does that mean I lack ambition?
